Overview:

Knuckles Windy Holiday Bungalow is situated at the top of a mountain in Kobonilla, about 500m from Knuckles World Heritage Forest boundary. The bungalow and cottage has been built on cleared land. They property does not have much Native Vegetation. Owners have taken steps to control light pollution and not disturb native fauna at night. No history of supporting Bio-Diversity Conservation projects.


Non-Intrusion of Forest Buffer Zones:

Knuckles Windy Holiday Bungalow is located 500m from Knuckles world Heritage boundary. While not encroaching on the forest, it is at the edge of the buffer zone. Google Map


Habitat Loss Prevention:

Since the bungalow and cottage has been built on cleared land, further Habitat Loss has been reduced during the construction.



Native Vegetation:

Native trees are not present on the property. However, there is opportunity for increasing the native vegetation cover on the property.


Trash Pollution Control & Recycling:

Knuckles Windy Holiday Bungalow needs to do better Trash Pollution Control, Recycling and Composting to reduce plastic and non bio-degradable items.


Light & Noise Pollution Control:

Owners have taken steps to reduce light pollution. Noise pollution has also been reduced due to lower number of visitors to the property.



Bio-Diversity Conservation Projects:

To date, Knuckles Windy Holiday Bungalow has not been active in supporting Bio-Diversity Conservation Projects in the surrounding area. Due to the close proximity to Knuckles World Heritage Forest, there is ample opportunity to initiate Bio-Diversity conservation projects to help native species as well as educate the locals to protect the habitat.
